At present, MentoMind specializes in preparing students for the College Board’s Digital SAT.

Most colleges do not have a preference between the two tests. While the ACT is a longer test it is broken up into 4 smaller sections – English, math, reading, and science. Some students find it easier to maintain focus and attention with the shorter sections. The SAT has fewer, longer sections. Decide by taking full-length practice tests for both. Your handling of time pressure and question types can help determine which test suits you better.

MentoMind is a self-paced program so students can determine how much to use it. It is available 24/7 and users can set a certain number of minutes a day to study. Students can set daily reminders to have MentoMind check in for consistent practice.

MentoMind also has a study planning tool to help students figure out what they need to complete based on their baseline score and test date. This helps students know where to start their studying and the amount of preparation to complete before their test date.

First, now that the SAT is fully digital this will help familiarize you with the actual testing conditions.

Secondly, use of an AI bot will help you learn not just that you got the question wrong but why you got it wrong. Mento provides real time assistance to help you when you need help, no page flipping required.

Our tests are designed to acquaint you with both the testing conditions and type of questions you will see on the actual SAT. Make sure to check out our blog for additional strategies, advice, and guidance.

SAT FAQs

The SAT is composed of two sections: the Reading and Writing section and the Math section. You will have 64 minutes to complete the Reading and Writing section and 70 minutes to complete the Math section for a total of 2 hours and 14 minutes of testing time.

Each section is divided into two equal length modules, and there is a 10-minute break between the Reading and Writing section and the Math section. The first module of each section contains a broad mix of easy, medium, and hard questions. Based on how you perform on the first module, the second module of questions will either be more difficult or less difficult.

The Digital SAT is a shorter, adaptive Test. We designed MentoMind with a similar algorithm to give you as similar an experience as possible!

Adaptive testing adjusts the exam’s difficulty in real-time based on the student’s performance, with questions becoming harder or easier based on earlier responses.

There are two sections: Reading and Writing, and Math.

The Math section focuses on key elements of algebra, advanced math, problem-solving and data analysis, and geometry and trigonometry.

Yes, a DESMOS calculator is available for the math section. You may bring your calculator and there is also one built into the test.

It varies by college and situation. Some colleges may waive SAT/ACT scores based on GPA or class rank, while others require them from certain applicants. Check with your preferred institutions to see what requirements they have.

Unlimited. We recommend taking it at least twice, during the spring of junior year and the fall of senior year, to potentially improve scores.

‘Superscoring’ on the SAT allows you to submit your best section-level scores, even if they’re from different tests. Different colleges will have different requirements regarding this practice.

Bring your admission ticket, valid ID, a fully charged device with Bluebook™ installed, charging cables, pencils, paper, and snacks.
